From the expensive and flawed Google Pixel Tab—a Chrome OS tablet released by Google last year to entirely negative reviews—to Samsung’s wide-reaching and expansive Galaxy Tab lineup, last updated with a flagship tablet in the form of the Galaxy Tab S4 nd the upcoming Tab S5e, Android tablets never met the highs of Apple’s own iPad devices.Perhaps that’s why Amazon’s tablets have found such a sweet spot in the budget range, following in the footsteps of the Nexus 7. Ranging in price from just $50 up to $150 for various models and screen sizes, the Fire Tablets are basically the cheapest way to get a device perfect for browsing the web, watching Netflix or Amazon Prime exclusives, and to play some light games on the go. They aren’t amazing tablets by any means, but for well under $200, they’re great content consumption devices.The big software difference between what we’ve seen on the Fire tablet, as opposed to any other Android tablet, is the customized software. The Amazon tablets run Fire OS, a modified version of Android 5.0 Lollipop.
This customized operating system allows you to have a better experience on tablets than Android otherwise allows for, but it’s also designed to push Amazon’s own lineup of products and services as much as possible. For the most part, this provides an excellent way to both use your tablet and to browse the services offered through Amazon, but unfortunately, it also leads to a major problem: the Google Play Store is not offered through the device. Instead, you’ll have to make do with the Amazon Appstore, Amazon’s own app store offering that gives you a fairly wide selection of apps and games you’d need on your tablet. Most of the major apps are on that platform, but you’ll quickly run into an issue if you’re looking for any Google apps on the Appstore—they aren’t there.Luckily, Fire OS is still built on top of Android, which means you can manually add the Play Store if you’re so willing. Earlier Fire models required the Play Store to be pushed to your device from a Windows computer using ADB, something that no longer has to be done. Downloads and installation on my Amazon Fire HD 8, OS 6, went off without a hitch. All of my Google Account info on the device and working well except: in Google Play when I try to access an app, the only device I can choose from in drop down menu (Choose a Device) is the full nomenclature of my smartphone (with a comment that the app is already installed there), and the further comment that “No eligible devices for app install.” In short, I cannot get the Google Play on the device to access setting the addition of the Fire. Is there any workaround to this?

Hi I have a Fire HD 8 (7 generation), running Fire OS 5.3.6.4followed your steps works like a charm!I also have a Fire HD 8 (8th generation), running Fire OS 6.3.0.1 and cannot get it to work at all ie; Google Play Services keeps telling me it needs an-update and or after I log in with my google account it quits back to the home screen.
With the new tablet am I d/l the right files? I noticed each file there are a lot of other versions, what exactly are the correct ones for my new tablet?There are so many other people saying the same thing not even the same links.Please help if you take donations I can do that.ThanksSteve. Additionally, when I tried to remove the programs & APKs, I’m still receiving infinite “Google Play Services (GPS) won’t run unless you update GPS” notifications. I ensured that i selected the latest version.On the second attempt Services Framework fails to Install. My selected file explorer (ES FE, from Amazon App Store) cannot access the APPs to fully uninstall them (down to the ‘root’).Need newest edition of Fire HD 8 to work with these instructions; which to their credit worked great for the initial dl/inst. Launched a different profile. Followed the steps over at and after some trial and error eventually got GPS to load and sign in. Selected 1 app.nothing.
DL pending (wait half an hour, keep screen awake); double check all settings, Wi-Fi, etc.Add two other apps, all in queue, no progress.I KNOW that when I go home it will not allow me to login, but be in the ‘endless cycle’Any guesses on how to allow the Fire to, at least, “recognize” GPS so I can attempt to login w/o needing to remove and reinstall the APKs each time?? I followed the instructions yesterday and installed all four files that were downloaded.
Then I went to Play Store after being prompted to log in to my Ggoogle account. I downloaded some apps successfully and they worked fine. Then I updated my software on the Fire 8 2018 64 bit tablet. Now every time I try to go to Play Store I am prompted to log in to my Google account.
After I do that the screen display goes back to the home page of the Fire 8. When I click on Play Store again it takes me to the prompt to log in to my Google account, and that goes on forever. When I tried to run the latest app I downloaded I got a message that Google Play Services must be updated, but when I try to do that it prompts me to log in to my Google account and the loop starts again. What do you think has happened and how can I fix it? I am running Android version 6.3.0.1 and there are no more updates available at this time.
Yes i did with my fire HD 8 8th edition, but when everything is set up and working as it normally should and the tablet is powered off or restarted and you try to access the play store it ask you to sign in again like you did the first time, unfortunately once you do that it goes into a loop and ask you to sign in again. Where i have to completely delete each app data then uninstall them all then reboot and re-install them all again and sign in which works perfectly until the device is powered off or rebooted.
China Mi Pad 4 does not have Google Play Store installed. But no worry, it is very simple to install Play Store on this Chinese Android tablet. First of all, download Google Installer 2.0 apk. Then install it. You might need to grant installation permission for unknown source.
Open Google Installer once installed. Then click on the big Install button. It will install multiple Google services then. Again, do grant installation permission for unknown source if prompted. Then continue to install every one of them.

And click done when finished. After installed all 6 items including Google Play Store, launch it.
